Welcome to the Online Home of the Bremerton Branch of the NAACP
Founded Feb. 12. 1909, the NAACP is the nation's oldest, largest and most widely recognized grassroots–based civil rights organization. Its more than half-million members and supporters throughout the United States and the world are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities, conducting voter mobilization and monitoring equal opportunity in the public and private sectors.
The
Bremerton NAACP is working hard to protect the political, social and
economic rights of minority groups throughout the region. But now we
need your support.
We are working on a number of important initiatives here in
the Greater Kitsap County Region: Hate crimes and racial challenges on
our school campuses; racial profiling by local law enforcement;
improving personal finances and getting more people ready to experience
the benefits of home ownership; and making sure people not only HAVE the
right to vote, but that they EXERCISE that right on election day.
We need our community to join us -- not only as paid
members of the NAACP, but as volunteers on our many programs designed for
the advancement of our cause. Your continued support and encouragement are
why the NAACP is the oldest, largest and most respected civil rights
organization in the world.
Please take a moment to browse our site. Here you will find important
information on our branch, what we're doing, and opportunities to join us in
defending the political, social and economic rights of all people in
Bremerton.
